Raspberry Pi Projects
are based on a Raspberry Pi board which is the name of a series of low cost, credit-card sized computer. Since its inception 6 years ago, it has enjoyed widespread popularity, thanks to the infinite range of possibilities this system offers.

It is a capable little device that enables people of all ages to explore computing, and to learn how to programming. Read more about it here

It lets students, experts, and hobbyists build innovative computing projects, and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python at a very affordable cost.

If you need more project ideas for Raspberry Pi Projects, please check this list :

We check the Top Raspberry Pi Projects which we have implemented over the last few years.

1) IoT Notice board using Raspberry Pi

Brief: In this project we can update Video, Image or Text and its parameter on HDMI LCD Display over the Internet using Raspberry Pi from anywhere in the world via a Website or an App. One of the best Raspberry Pi Project which has applications in railway stations, airports, schools, colleges, etc.

2) Raspberry Pi Surveillance System

Brief: In this project we demonstrate a raspberry pi as a security system which detects motion using PIR sensor, captures a image and send it to an email address. This project uses Raspberry Pi camera to capture the images.

3) Magic Mirror with Google Home using Raspberry Pi

Brief: We have demonstrated Google Home on Raspberry pi with Magic Mirror which can tell you the time, date, weather, and more.

We have incorporated AIY Voice Kit from Google that lets you build your own natural language processor and connect it to the Google Assistant or Cloud Speech-to-Text service, allowing you to ask questions and issue voice commands to your programs. All of this fits in a handy little cardboard cube, powered by a Raspberry Pi.

4) Raspberry Pi Customer Feedback System

Brief: Feedback is the essence of communication and is the final step of communication process so we demonstrate another innovative Raspberry pi project in which users/customers feedback can be recorded by a store/shop/restaurant/etc to improve their products and services. It is a Low cost, GUI based application using raspberry pi, LCD and buttons. The GUI is designed using python tkinter.

5) Raspberry Pi IoT Multimedia System

Brief: Another interesting application which let users play a loops of images, videos and control them over the internet through a server using Raspberry Pi. A very handy application for advertisement, displaying products in shops, menus in restaurants, etc.

6) IoT Home Automation using Raspberry Pi

Brief: Consider the scenario where devices of your home can communicate with each other via a black box technology and can take the decision when they have to switch on and off devices smartly? Like you entered the room and lights, fans get automatically switch on / off depending on the intensity of light and temperature of the room.

You don’t even have to touch switches. “SMART”. Even more, you can check the status of your home devices from anywhere in the world and can control them also via cell phone, web etc. Or in simple terms, Home Automation using Raspberry Pi. A project similar to the one shown can be developed.

7) Raspberry Pi Surveillance Robot

Brief: Control a Raspberry Pi based Surveillance Robot from a laptop/app with real time camera stream over LAN. This can be used to demonstrate concept of spy robots or defense robots which can provide useful intel about location of targets.

8) Drunk Driver Detection with Ignition Lock using Raspberry Pi

Brief: Drink and drive is a leading cause of road accidents. Detecting drunk driving requires stopping vehicles and manually scanning drivers by using breath analyzers.

Well here we propose a system that allows to detect drunk driving in the vehicle itself. Our system uses alcohol sensor with raspberry pi along with sms notification, LCD display and also a motor to demonstrate as vehicle motor.

Now our system constantly checks for driver alcohol content. And if the system detects driver is drunk above permissible limit, the sensor inputs trigger the processor about the issue by providing respective voltage. Now the system sends sms notifications to both the registered users/authorities to inform about the issue. Also the system stops the motor to demonstrate as engine locking of the vehicle. Thus the system detects and prevents drunk driving incidents automatically.

A project similar to the one shown can be developed.

9) Smart Door Receptionist with Remote Lock using Raspberry Pi

Brief: Security and safety are becoming more and more popular day by day and it is getting improved and used for the ease in our life. Now days, technology has become an integrated part of people’s lives therefore the security of one’s home, office or organization must also not be left behind.

Smart Receptionist with smart lock system is mainly designed and developed for security system and purposes. This smart security system is used to see a visitor when the main door of the office or organization is closed. The purpose of this system is to control the door lock using IOT platform and Raspberry Pi.

In this system whenever a person rings the bell, image of the person is captured by the camera and then the smart lock system will send the image to mail or cusotm website. Once the image is uploaded on the website or mailed, an option will be available of either unlocking the door or keeping the door locked. If the person accepts the permission to enter, then the system will open the door, and if the person denies the permission to open the door, door will remain locked and the system will display as well as speak out a message as “Access Denied”

A project similar to the one shown can be developed.

10) Document Reader for blind using Raspberry Pi

Brief: This project has been built around Raspberry Pi processor board. It is controlling the peripherals like Camera, speaker and LCD which act as an interface between the system and the user. Optical Character Recognition or OCR is implemented in this project to recognize characters which are then read out by the system through a speaker.

As shown in the project setup, the camera is mounted on a stand in such a position that if a paper is placed in between the area marked by angular braces, it captures a full view of the paper into the system. Also, when the camera takes the snapshot of the paper, it is ensured that there is good lighting conditions. The content on the paper should be written in English (preferably Times New Roman) and be of good font size (preferably 24 or more as per MS Word).

When all these conditions are met the system takes the photo, processes it and if it recognizes the content written on the paper it will announce on the speaker that the content on the paper has been successfully processed. After this it speaks out the content that was converted in to text format in the system from processing the image of the paper. In this way Raspberry Pi Based Reader for Blind helps a blind person to read a paper without the help of any human reader or without the help of tactile writing system.

A project similar to the one shown can be developed.
